• The Short Story: Senior guard Ochae Bynum (Waldorf, Md./North Point) and sophomore forward Spencer Schultz (Clear Spring, Md./Clear Spring) combined for 40 points to lead the St. Mary's College of Maryland men's basketball team in defeat Tuesday night. St. Mary's dropped its third straight, falling 92-73 to host Penn State Altoona in non-conference action.

How It Happened

• Penn State Altoona never trailed in 40 minutes of action as the Lions rolled out to a 12-4 lead in the first four minutes.
• Two Schultz lay-ups knotted the game at 13:40 and again at 10:53 but the Seahawks could not gain enough momentum to establish any kind of lead.
• The Lions outscored St. Mary's, 28-18, over the final 10 minutes of the half to stake a 46-36 lead at the break.
• Ishimeal Nance led all scorers at halftime with 20 points on 7-of-9 shooting while grabbing five rebounds. Bynum paced the Seahawks with 10 points while first-year forward Marquis Bullett (Columbia, Md./Wilde Lake) hauled in five boards as well.
• Altoona opened up the second half with a 9-0 run, including five straight points from Nance, and never looked back as the Lions stretched their lead to 33 points with 7:20 remaining.

Inside the Box Score

• St. Mary's shot 42.4% from the field for the game, including 45.5% from downtown.
• The Seahawks forced 17 Altoona turnovers as the team collected 13 steals, capitalizing with 13 points.
• Bynum finished the night with 21 points, a game-best five assists and two rebounds while Schultz contributed 19 points, four boards, a season-best three steals, and one blocks.
• Bullett and senior wing Chris Craft, Jr. (Waldorf, Md./Westlake) each chipped in nine points while Bullett added six caroms and a season-best two dimes. Craft picked a game- and career-high six pockets to go along with three helpers and three rebounds.
• Nance collected a double-double with game-bests of 34 points and 10 boards to lead the Lions to their second win in a row while Dequan Jackson finished with 21 points, five steals, three assists, two caroms and two blocks.
• Altoona ended the game shooting 53.7% from the floor and posted a 38-30 rebounding margin.
