Buena Vista, Va. – Senior captain Melissa Barall (Columbia, Md./Wilde Lake) and sophomore Claire Bodine (Smithsburg, Md./Smithsburg) each won their singles match as the St. Mary's College of Maryland women's tennis team took on Southern Virginia University in Capital Athletic Conference play. The Seahawks (6-5, 1-3 CAC) dropped a 7-2 decision to Southern Virginia (12-2, 2-1 CAC) on Friday evening.

How It Happened
Doubles:
- Seniors Savannah Bergen (Leonardtown, Md./Leonardtown) and Raziela Manangan (Baltimore, Md./Institute of Notre Dame) put on the best doubles effort for the Seahawks, winning four games at No. 2 doubles before falling 4-8 to Audrey McBride and Natalie Teets.
Singles:
- Barall took down the Knights' No. 1 player, Elizabeth Fuchs, 6-3, 6-2 to help earn a point for the Seahawks. The victory moves Barall to 10-3 overall, including a 9-2 dual record and 2-2 mark in conference play.
- Bodine picked up her fourth straight win as she notched a 6-3, 6-4 victory over Teets at No. 4 singles. She is now 4-0 in conference matches.
