St. Mary's started the game with a hot start that included a 14-2 run in the opening minutes of the contest. Gina Seifert tallied six points during the run, while Kyaira Priest and Hallie Persell each added four points.

Following St. Mary's fast start, the Captains responded by closing out the quarter with 19 unanswered points to retake the lead, 21-14.

The Seahawks headed into halftime trailing the Captains 58-24 and struggled to close the gap through the second half of action. St. Mary's was outscored 26-18 in the third quarter and 19-17 in the final stanza.
