Leesburg, VA -- The St. Mary's College of Maryland Women's Cross Country team made the short trip to Leesburg, VA for the Marymount Derby. The Seahawks took home second place in the 6k race with 65 points, just behind Grove City College. St. Mary's saw Madeleine Blaisdell and Lauren Sapp finish in the top 15.   . 

Top Performers 

The top five Seahawk performers today were Madeleine Blaisdell, Lauren Sapp, Elizabeth Robey, Brittney Douglas, and Ariana Lecouras

Blaisdell came across the line in second with a time of 24:10. Coming in shortly after Balisdell was Lauren Sapp, who finished the 6k course in 25:24, giving her ninth place. Elizabeth Robey completed the race in 26:56, earning 19th place. Fourth across the line for St. Mary's was Brittney Douglas. Douglas finished the race in 27:43 and came in 22nd place. Rounding out the top five for the Seahawks was Ariana Lecouras who finished with the 26th best time, running a 28:50 6k . 

There were 44 runners in the field for the women's race.  

Other Notes

Every Seahawks Women's Cross Country member set a new personal best in the 6k.

 The Seahawks will be running again in two weeks (Oct. 29) at the United East Conference Championships.
