Box Score Fredericksburg, VA. – The St. Mary's College of Maryland men's tennis team competed in day one of the ITA SouthEast Regionals on the campus of Mary Washington University. The Seahawks competed against various division III programs from all over the region.
How It Happened (Day 1):
Doubles

Max Esztergomi and Daoud Ahkalidi competed in the B2 doubles group, taking on Diego Romo and Matthew Rudolf of Catholic University. Esztergomi and Ahkalidi fell to the Cardinals duo 8-5.

Boris Palmade and Stephen Alam defeated Ryne Talko and Benjamin Jones of Grove City by a score of 8-3 in the first round of the championship doubles grouping. Palmade and Alam couldn't make it past the next round, coming up short against Mary Washington's Andrew Watson and Nick Spera, 8-3.
Singles

Nick Rohr dropped his opening match of the B4 group, 8-5. Rohr matched up against Bridgewater's Gabe Elder.

Stephen Alam competed in the championship singles group. Alam fell in two sets to Vivekraj Harinarayan from Stevens Institute of Technology by scores of 6-1 and 6-0.

Boris Palmade also opened up with a match in the championship singles group. Palmade dropped both sets to Washington and Lee's Evan Brady, 6-4, 6-1.

Nick Rohr fell in a hard fought match in the opening match of the B4 consolation bracket. Rohr lost by a score of 8-7 against Philipp Bohnenkamp of Averett University.

Daoud Ahkalidi matched up against Will Oberholtzer of Ursinus College in the first round of the championship singles consolation bracket. Ahkalidi came up short, dropping the match by a score of 8-6

Boris Palmade came out on top in his opening round match in the championship singles consolation bracket, defeating Virginia Wesleyan's Alen Curovic, 8-5. Palmades next match could not be played due to bad weather in the area.
