Philadelphia, PA -- The St. Mary's College of Maryland Women's Cross Country competed in their second meet of the year at the Philadelphia Metro Championships. The Seahawks ran a 5k race and placed third. Madeleine Blaisdell led the charge for the Seahawks, finishing in fourth place against the field, while fellow teammate Lauren Sapp also earned a top 15 finish, coming in eighth.Â
 Felician and Jefferson were the only two schools to finish in front of the Seahawks.Â
Top PerformersÂ
The top five Seahawk performers today were Madeleine Blaisdell, Lauren Sapp, Brittney Douglas, Molly Kloss, and Ariana Lecouras.
Blaisdell had an amazing outing, earning a top three finish with a time of 21:53. Right behind her was Lauren Sapp. Sapp cruised to an eighth place finish, crossing the line in 22:11. In third was Brittney Douglas. Douglas finished the race in 24:08, earning her a 24th place finish. Finishing immediately behind her was Molly Kloss. Kloss wrapped up her race in 24:13. Rounding out the Seahawks top five racers was Ariana Lecouras, who finished the race in 24:54Â
There were 72 total runners for the women's race. The course was described as challenging.Â

The Seahawks will be back in action on Saturday, September 24th where they will be running in the Abington Invitational in Abington, PA. Â
