ATLANTA, Ga. – The Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) announced Tuesday morning the 2022-23 WBCA Academic Top 25 Team Honor Rolls and the St. Mary's College of Maryland women's basketball team earned a special mention.
The WBCA Academic Top 25 recognizes NCAA Division I, II and III, NAIA and two-year college women's basketball teams across the nation that carry the highest combined GPAs inclusive of all student-athletes on their rosters for the entire season. The 2022-23 season is the 28th in which the WBCA has compiled the honor rolls.
This is the second year in which all teams which reported a minimum 3.0 GPA are also recognized for their academic accomplishments.
St. Mary's College tallied a 3.2480 team GPA during the 2022-23 academic year, a 0.127 point improvement from last year. The Seahawks were one of three women's basketball programs to represent the United East Conference as Penn College (3.316) and Gallaudet University (3.307) all made the cut too.
Wartburg College (3.872), Millikin University (3.805), and Martin Luther College (3.786) notched the top-3 team GPAs in Division III.
