LATHAM, N.Y. – Senior
Cicely Clark (Ellicott City, Md./Centennial) seized United East Conference Defensive Player of the Week honors as announced by the league office Monday afternoon (Oct. 21). This is Clark's first career weekly honor, and she becomes the fourth Seahawk to notch the award this season.
The St. Mary's College of Maryland women's soccer team picked up two shutout victories as the Seahawks tallied a 7-0 win over Notre Dame of Maryland University (Oct. 16) before playing to a scoreless draw at Penn State Harrisburg (Oct. 19).
Clark dished out a career-best three assists in the shutout of Notre Dame (Md.) while holding the Gators to no shots and just one corner kick. She then helped the SMCM defense hold regionally-ranked Penn State Harrisburg scoreless on nine shots (four on goal) and six corner kicks.
The 5-6 defender/midfielder is currently tied for 10th in the United East with four assists.
St. Mary's College (13-1-3, 5-0-1 UEC) will be back in action tomorrow, Tuesday, October 22, when the Seahawks welcome Rosemont College (6-8, 2-4 UEC) to the Jamie L. Roberts Stadium for a league match at 5 pm. This game will be dedicated to
Vs. Cancer.
