HAMPTON, Va. – Senior captain Luke Schwenk (Annapolis, Md./Broadneck) registered two NCAA 'B' cuts as St. Mary's College of Maryland men's swimming opened action Friday (Nov. 22) at the Yellow Jacket Invitational hosted by Randolph-Macon College at the Hampton, Virginia Aquaplex. St. Mary's College garnered four Top 10 finishes to collect 116 points and a fifth-place sitting in the seven-team field.
 
All times posted Friday by the Seahawks were season-bests.
 
Schwenk captured the 50-freestyle with a 'B' cut and meet record of 20.26 while sophomore Anthony Davis (Upper Marlboro, Md./Riverdale Baptist) came in 19th in 22.13 and junior captain William Kendrick (Laurel, Md./DeMatha Catholic) placed 23rd in 22.32.
 
Schwenk's second 'B' cut performance came as the lead swimmer on the fifth-place 400-medley relay (3:31.69). He clocked a 48.61 in the 100-backstroke, the first leg of the medley relay. Sophomores Daniel Madigan (Waldorf, Md./North Point) and Kyle Smith (Crofton, Md./Crofton) and Davis joined Schwenk on the relay.
 
The foursome of Kendrick, sophomore Qwada Moses (Bowie, Md./DeMatha Catholic), Smith, and Schwenk notched an eighth-place finish in the 200-freestyle relay in 1:27.40.
 
Kendrick, sophomore Luca Fairbank (Phoenix, Md./Dulaney), Moses, and first-year Harrison Greenwald (Reisterstown, Md.) took 10th in the 400-medley relay in 3:42.00.
 
SMCM earned a 12th-place finish in the 200-freestyle relay as well in 1:31.14 behind the efforts of junior Tony Lumezi (Towson, Md./Towson), Fairbank, sophomore CB Jurado (Odenton, Md./Arundel), and Greenwald.
 
Greenwald paced St. Mary's College in the 500-freestyle with a 17th-place finish in 4:45.61 while Smith placed 20th in the 200-individual medley in 2:05.48.
