WEST CHESTER, Pa. – The St. Mary's College of Maryland men's outdoor track & field team finished fifth in the 18-team field with 28 points at the Purple & Gold Invitational hosted by Division II West Chester University on Saturday (Mar. 23). St. Mary's College posted five personal records as well as a pair of top-10 times during the meet.
 
How It Happened

• First-year Ty Tindal (Philadelphia, Pa./Martin Saints Classical) captured the 400m dash with a personal record time of 52.00, which is the fifth fastest time in program history and currently ranks 15th in the Mid-Atlantic region.
• First-year Collin Fitzgerald (Annapolis, Md./Broadneck) placed fifth in the 400m dash with a personal record of 53.95, which ranks 30th in the region.
• First-year Mason Layne (Taneytown, Md./Francis Scott Key) also notched a top-8 finish in the 400m dash, coming in seventh in 55.38 for the 42nd fastest in the Mid-Atlantic.

 

• First-year Aaron Morales (Smithsburg, Md./Smithsburg) led the Seahawks in the 110m hurdles with a third-place finish in 19.44.

 

• Sophomore captain Kelly Byrne (Rockville, Md./Rockville) was the team's top finisher in the 5000m run as he took fourth with a personal record of 17:18.41, which ranks 35th in the region and seventh fastest in school history.

 

• In the 1500m run, senior Quentin Pastore (Towson, Md./Towson) placed 19th in 4:35.65 while first-year Isaiah Ferebee (Upper Marlboro, Md.) ran a personal record of 4:41.91 for 21st place.
• First-year Bryce Webster (Saint Leonard, Md./Calvert) also posted a personal record in the 1500m run, finishing 31st in 5:04.67.

 

• First-year Bryson Brown (Waldorf, Md./Thomas Stone) notched a 27th-place finish in the 100m dash in 13.25.
