The No. 12 St. Mary's College of Maryland open sailing team claimed top honors at the Admiral Moore Open Team Race hosted by Maritime College (Mar. 23-24) while finishing sixth at the Hanbury Trophy hosted by Christopher Newport University. The Seahawks women's sailing team came in ninth at the Seahawks Women's Team Race.

ADMIRAL MOORE OPEN TEAM RACE
No. 12 St. Mary's College finished first in the seven-team field with a perfect 9-0 record. No. 9 University of Pennsylvania placed second with a 7-2 record while No. 5 Roger Williams University rounded out the top-3 with a 5-4 mark.

The Seahawks posted a 6-0 record in Round 1, including a perfect 1-2-3 finish for the win over host Maritime College, and locked up a spot in the final four. In the final four, SMCM went undefeated, notching a pair of 1-2-4 wins over UPenn and Roger Williams and posting a 1-2-3 finish over Fordham University.

HANBURY TROPHY
No. 12 St. Mary's College picked up a sixth-place finish in the 14-team field with 105 points at the Hanbury Trophy. North Carolina State University won the Hanbury Trophy with 74 points while Old Dominion University came in second with 79 points and Hampton University in third with 82 points.

No competition on Sunday as there was too much wind in the morning and all team representatives agreed to call the racing.

Landon Cormie (Vineyard Haven, Mass./Falmouth Academy) with junior crew
Brooke Bertrand (Costa Mesa, Calif./Orange Coast College) and
Henry Haddon (Bethesda, Md./Walt Whitman) placed second in Division A with 36 points. Cormie and Bertrand collected four top-4 finishes, including two second-place finishes in Race 2A and 5A, while Cormie and Haddon posted five top-3 finishes, including winning Races 6A and 7A.

Mary Govan (Charlottesville, Va./Albemarle) took seventh in Division B with 69 points. The duo registered four fourth-place finishes in Races 1B, 5B, 6B, and 8B.

SEAHAWKS WOMEN'S TEAM RACE
St. Mary's College finished ninth in the 10-team field with a 4-14 record down on the St. Mary's River. No. 9 College of Charleston won the Seahawks Women's Team Race with a 16-5 record while No. 6 Cornell University came in second with a 15-6 mark. Rounding out the Top 3 was No. 5 Dartmouth University with a 15-6 record.

The Seahawks posted a 1-8 record in Round 1, defeating Fordham with a 1-2-5 finish. In Round 2, SMCM notched a 3-6 mark with wins over Fordham (1-2-4), Hobart and William Smith Colleges (2-3-4), and Jacksonville University (2-3-4).
