Virginia Beach, Va. – The St. Mary's College of Maryland men's indoor track and field team travelled to Virginia Beach, Va. for the Marlin Invitational hosted by Virginia Wesleyan University. The Seahawks competed against all three NCAA Divisions and independent track clubs, breaking multiple St. Mary's records.
How It Happened:
- Four Seahawks competed in the 60m Prelims, with Henry Wilcox earning a personal best of 7.78.
- The top three Seahawks in the 200m were led by Collin Fitzgerald, setting a new St. Mary's record and personal best in a time of 22.39 and earning a 6th place finish. Nick Haylock finished in 23.68, a new personal record. Aaron Morales rounded out the top three in a time of 25.27.
- The Seahawks competed in the 400m event, led Michael Wade in 53.22. Wade set a new personal record. Moses McRae followed after with a time of 53.76. Henry Wilcox finished the top three Seahawks in a time of 55.43.
- The performers in the 800m run were led by Blake Carberry with a 2:11.21 finish. RJ Etzler finished with a new personal best in 2:13.40.
- Pierson Hogue led all four Seahawks to personal records in the 1 Mile. Hogue finished in 4:45.66 taking 5th place. Jake Robey followed after in a time of 5:00.41. Jonathan Howell and Owen Swisdak finished in 5:39.54 and 5:50.56 respectively.
- The top Seahawk performer Michael Wade earned a 1st place finish alongside breaking the St. Mary's school record and personal record in the Men's 5000 Meter run in a time of 15:36.22. Kelly Byrne finished with a time of 18:47.17.
- Three Seahawk teams competed in the 4x400m relay. The top squad of Nicholas Haylock, Collin Fitzgerald, Michael Wade, and Mason Layne broke the St. Mary's school record with a time of 3:34.55.
- Zack Kralec earned 1st place in pole vault finishing with a height of 4.40 meters. Kralec set a new '25 NCAA Division III place of #69, and broke both the St. Mary's school record and personal record.
- Tyler Osborne set a personal best in the Men's Long Jump with a 4.98 meter jump.
- Doel Nkalo finished with a throw of 8.68m on the second throw of three attempts.
- Doel Nkalo threw for a 14th place finish of 9.93 meters in the Weight Throw.
