LATHAM, N.Y. – Jacob Nelson (Olney, Md./Sherwood) was selected as the United East Conference Men's Tennis Player of the Week as announced by the league office Tuesday morning (Oct. 14). This is Nelson's second career league player of the week award.
The St. Mary's College of Maryland men's tennis team faced Marymount (Va.) University Friday evening (Oct. 10), falling 6-1 in non-conference action.
Nelson teamed up with
Alex Layman '28 in a 6-1 loss to Marymount's
Eshan Degamwar and
Rebhi Villasmil at No. 1 doubles to start the match. He then tallied the team's lone point of the match with a 6-1, 6-4 victory over Villasmil at No. 2 singles.
The Seahawks (0-2) will return to action this weekend (Oct. 18-19) at the Seahawk Open.
