St. Mary's forced 16 Delaware State turnovers, converting them into 18 points while scoring 11 fast-break points. The Seahawks also knocked down seven three-pointers, keeping the game within reach through the first three quarters.

Delaware State used a strong shooting performance inside—particularly in the second half—to create separation. The Hornets finished with a 34–18 advantage in points in the paint and shot 47% from the field while outrebounding St. Mary's 52–33.
