Kelsie Miller (Rockville, Md./Churchill) picked up the Atlantic East Conference Women's Swimmer of the Week award for the fourth time this season as announced by the league office Monday afternoon (Nov. 24). Earning her 10th career weekly Atlantic East honor, this is the third straight week that Miller has been selected this season.
St. Mary's College of Maryland women's swimming finished fifth at the eight-team, three-day Yellow Jacket Invitational hosted by Randolph-Macon College at the Hampton Aquaplex Nov. 21-23.
Miller was the lone St. Mary's College swimmer – male or female – to earn a gold medal at the Invitational this weekend. She captured the 100-butterfly in 56.19 while finishing sixth in 200-butterfly (2:12.03) and anchoring the seventh-place 200-freestyle (1:40.64) and 800-freestyle (8:14.84) relays.
She also swam the third leg of the eighth-place 200-medley relay (1:51.87) and led off the ninth-place 400-freestyle relay (3:44.58). Finally, Miller placed 10th in the 200-individual medley in 2:12.16.
The Seahawks will return to action after the Thanksgiving break, traveling to Westminster, Md., for a non-conference tri-meet at McDaniel College (1-5) with Hood College (3-4) Saturday, Dec. 6 at 1 pm.
