ST. MARY'S CITY, Md. – Senior captain
Luke Schwenk (Annapolis, Md./Broadneck) tallied another conference championship meet record and NCAA B cut on the third day of the 2025 Atlantic East Conference Swimming Championships Saturday (Feb. 15). Today's events included the 400-individual medley, the 100-butterfly, the 200-freestyle, the 100-breaststroke, the 100-backstroke, and the 400-medley relay.
St. Mary's College, which is looking for its first-ever Atlantic East Conference title, is still second in the team standings with 553 points after capturing the 400-individual medley and 100-backstroke. Marymount (Va.) University continues to be atop of the five-team field with 604 points. Rounding out the Top 5 are Marywood University (212), Immaculata University (183), and Gallaudet University (148).
Schwenk claimed his second Atlantic East title in the 100-backstroke with a championship meet record and B cut of 48.23. First-year
Harrison Greenwald (Reisterstown, Md.) won the 400-individual medley with a 4:14.77 to collect the Seahawks' second gold medal of the night.
Schwenk, sophomores
Daniel Madigan (Waldorf, Md./North Point) and
Kyle Smith (Crofton, Md./Crofton), and Greenwald clocked a 3:30.22 for second place in the 400-medley relay.
Madigan earned another silver medal with his second-place finish in the 100-breaststroke, touching the wall in 58.65. Sophomore
Luca Fairbank (Phoenix, Md./Dulaney) and senior
Sam Meisel (Chevy Chase, Md./Walter Johnson) joined Madigan on the podium as Fairbank took fourth in 1:01.99 and Meisel finished seventh in 1:07.02.
Smith led SMCM in the 100-butterfly with a fourth-place finish in 52.74. Joining Smith on the podium were junior
Jair Jackson (Laurel, Md./Chapelgate Christian) and sophomores
Qwada Moses (Bowie, Md./DeMatha Catholic) and
Thomas Brown (Clarksburg, Md./Clarksburg). Jackson placed fifth in 53.23 followed by Moses in sixth in 54.72 while Brown finished seventh in 1:00.49.
In the 200-freestyle, sophomore
Anthony Davis (Upper Marlboro, Md./Riverdale Baptist) registered the best finish for St. Mary's College coming in fourth in 1:49.13. Sophomore
CB Jurado (Odenton, Md./Arundel) was fifth in 1:52.01 with first-year
Stephen Lepine (Rockville, Md.) closely following suit in 1:52.04 for sixth. Junior
Tony Lumezi (Towson, Md./Towson) rounded out the podium finishers with an eighth-place finish in 1:56.97.
Junior captain
William Kendrick (Laurel, Md./DeMatha Catholic) reached the podium in the 100-backstroke with a fourth-place finish in 55.28 while Brown finished seventh in 1:01.11. Lumezi won the consolation final of the 100-backstroke in 1:01.98 for ninth overall.
Sophomore
Nick Suwito (Clarksburg, Md./Clarksburg) claimed a podium finish in the 400-individual medley, taking sixth in 5:30.51, while fellow classmate
Jake Williams (Port Republic, Md./Calvert) was seventh in 5:38.49.
