ST. MARY'S CITY, Md. – The spring sailing season is three weeks old and the St. Mary's College of Maryland sailing teams are 3-for-3 in winning one regatta each week as St. Mary's College captured the Washington College Team Race this past weekend (Mar. 15-16). Additionally, the Seahawks placed fourth at the Graham Hall Team Race hosted by the U.S. Naval Academy while finishing ninth at the St. Mary's Women's Fleet Race.
WASHINGTON COLLEGE TEAM RACE
SMCM did not drop a single race in round robin action, posting a 5-0 record to win the Washington College Team Race.
St. Mary's College notched a pair of perfect 1-2-3 finishes in wins over Princeton University and Washington College. The Seahawks also took down University of Michigan, 1-2-4; Fordham University, 1-2-6; and Maritime College, 2-3-4.

Joe Marynowski (Buffalo, N.Y./Canisius) and first-year crew
Elise Jones (Cambridge, Md./Cambridge South Dorchester); senior skipper
Max Kleha (Huntington, Calif./Mater Dei) and junior crew
Gina Bonazelli (Silver Spring, Md./Montgomery Blair); and sophomore skipper
Mats Braaten (Toronto, Ont./Humberside) and junior crew
Hattie Rigney (Chesapeake, Va./Deep Creek).
GRAHAM HALL TEAM RACE
The Seahawks notched an 11-4 record to place fourth behind regatta winner, Navy, who tallied a 14-1 mark. Georgetown University came in second with a 13-2 record while Harvard University finished third with a 13-2 mark as well but lost the tiebreaker as Georgetown won the head-to-head.
SMCM collected four perfect 1-2-3 finishes over University of Miami, George Washington University, U.S. Merchant Marine Academy, and University of Wisconsin. St. Mary's College went 1-2-4 against University of Pennsylvania and Old Dominion University while going 1-2-5 against Cornell University and 1-2-6 in the win over Yale University.

Brooke Bertrand (Costa Mesa, Calif./Corona Del Mar),
Henry Haddon (Bethesda, Md./Walt Whitman), and
Zoe Hoctor (Annapolis, Md./St. Mary's), junior captain
Emily Shioutakon (Rockville, Md./Good Counsel), and first-year crew
Jane Wright (Wilmington, N.C./Hoggard).
ST. MARY'S WOMEN'S FLEET RACE
St. Mary's College finished in the top half of the 18-team field, coming in ninth with 207 points. Georgetown claimed the team title with an impressive 58 points.

Cho-Cho Williams (Norfolk, Va./Granby) and crew
Indiana Theurer '25 (Virginia Beach, Va./Homeschool) and
Grace-Anne Phillips '27 (Stevensville, Md./Gunston) finished seventh in Division A with 99 points.
In Division B, sophomore skipper
Lina Carper (Carlsbad, Calif./Coronado) and senior crew
Lillian Newman (Annapolis, Md./Broadneck) took 10th with 108 points. The duo notched a pair of Top 5 finishes, taking fourth in Race 10B and fifth in Race 5B.
