ST. MARY'S CITY, Md. – The honors continue to roll in for senior captain
Cole Tarleton (Hollywood, Md./Leonardtown) as the St. Mary's College of Maryland baseball player landed on the
D3baseball.com All-America Teams announced May 28.
Tarleton garnered D3baseball.com All-America Fourth Team honors after picking up D3baseball.com All-Region 4 First Team and ABCA/Rawlings NCAA Division III All-Region 4 Second Team honors on May 27. The 6-2 outfielder, who collected three all-region awards during his career, is the first All-American for the St. Mary's College baseball program.
The 2025 United East Conference Player of the Year, he is also the first player in program history to ever gain four all-conference awards, picking up Second Team honors in 2022 and 2023 and notching First Team accolades in 2024 and 2025.
He finished as the United East leader with team-bests of a .444 batting average, a .838 slugging percentage, and a 1.412 OPS (on-base + slugging percentage) while ranking second with a team-high .574 on-base percentage.
Tarleton also tied for first in the conference with a 1.000 fielding percentage on 59 putouts and two assists in 61 chances while tying for second with five triples, tying for ninth with 43 RBI, and tying for 10th with six home runs.
In Division III, he ranked third in on-base percentage, ninth in slugging percentage, 11th in batting average, 15th with 1.48 RBI per game, and 22nd with 0.97 walks per game. Tarleton tied for 12th with 0.17 triples per game and tied for 27th in triples as well.
He was twice named the United East Player of the Week while gaining a spot on the D3baseball.com Team of the Week (April 30). Tarleton paced the team with 13 multi-hit games and 12 multi-RBI games while stringing together a 19-game hit streak between March 12 and May 2. He ended his senior campaign with a reached base streak of 29 straight games.
Tarleton finished his career with a .400 batting average on 162 hits in 405 at-bats, connecting on 38 doubles, 17 home runs, and 12 triples in 114 career games. He also tallied 115 RBI, scored 106 runs, and stole 17 bases.
The Seahawks finished the 2025 season with a 13-16 (11-5 UEC) overall record for the team's fourth consecutive double-digit win campaign. The 11 conference wins are the most since SMCM went 10-10 in 2023. St. Mary's College claimed the No. 3 seed in the United East Tournament, hosting a playoff game for the first time since 2011 and advancing to the Final Four.
