2025 Seahawks Women’s Soccer Schedule Drops

ST. MARY'S CITY, Md. – Head Coach Peter Krech '09, who embarks on his 12th season as the skipper of the St. Mary's College of Maryland women's soccer program this fall, released the 2025 schedule. The 19-game schedule gives SMCM fans nine opportunities to watch them in person at the Jamie L. Roberts (JLR) Stadium.
 
St. Mary's College, the 2024 United East Conference tournament runner-up, will go up against three participants from the 2024 NCAA Division III Women's Soccer Championship Tournament, two league tournament runners-up and one conference tournament champion. Additionally, two teams finished the season nationally ranked in the United Soccer Coaches poll.
 
The 2024 campaign was a historic one for the Seahawks, finishing with school records of 65 goals scored, 18 shutouts, and 17 wins. SMCM registered a final overall record of 17-2-4 (7-0-1 UEC), advanced to the United East tournament championship game, and earned the program's second-ever NCAA Division III Women's Soccer Championship Tournament berth.
 
NON-CONFERENCE SCHEDULE
St. Mary's College will hit the ground running as the Seahawks host Neumann University and The College of New Jersey (TCNJ) in the Seahawk Classic on Aug. 29-30. Neumann advanced to the semifinals of the Atlantic East Conference Tournament while TCNJ is the two-time defending New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) champion and advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament, earning a No. 20 ranking in the final national poll.
 
SMCM then begins a five-game road trip at Hood College on Sept. 3 before taking on William Smith College and Rowan University at the Salisbury University Classic on Sept. 6-7. St. Mary's College follows up those matchups with games at Stevenson University on Sept. 10 and at Randolph-Macon College on Sept. 13.
 
William Smith ended 2024 as the NCAA national runner-up and ranked No. 2 in Division III while Rowan advanced to the NJAC semifinals and earned an NCAA Tournament berth. Stevenson and Randolph-Macon both lost in the semifinals of the MAC Commonwealth Conference and Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Tournaments, respectively.
 
The Seahawks respond with a five-game homestand, opening with The Catholic University of America, a Landmark Conference semifinalist, on Sept. 17 followed by Virginia Wesleyan University, the 2024 ODAC tournament runner-up, on Sept. 20. SMCM then plays five straight United East games, including the first three at the JLR, before returning to non-conference play against Salisbury, a Coast-To-Coast (C2C) Athletic Conference semifinalist, on Oct. 12.
 
St. Mary's College's final non-conference match-up will be against another C2C semifinalist in the University of Mary Washington on Oct. 25.
 
UNITED EAST PLAY
University of Valley Forge (Sept. 27), Penn State Brandywine (Oct. 1), and Keystone College (Oct. 4) mark the first three conference games of the season and all three will be played in front of Seahawk Nation at the JLR.
 
The Seahawks then hit the road for matches at Notre Dame of Maryland University on Oct. 7 and Lancaster Bible College on Oct. 11. Lancaster Bible is the first of four league opponents who competed in last year's United East Tournament. The Chargers advanced to the quarterfinals, falling at SMCM in overtime.

After facing Salisbury on Oct. 12, St. Mary's College returns to league action at Penn State Berks on Oct. 15 before hosting Cairn University for Hawktoberfest on Oct. 18 for the final regular-season home contest. The Seahawks will end the season on the road at Penn State Abington on Oct. 21 and Mary Washington on Oct. 25.
 
Penn State Abington made it to the semifinals of the United East Tournament while Penn State Berks advanced to the quarterfinals and Cairn gained a spot in the First Round.

The United East Tournament will begin on Oct. 29 with first round action for seeds 8-12 followed by the quarterfinals on Nov. 1 at the sites of the Top 4 seeds. The semifinals (Nov. 4) and championship game (Nov. 8) will be held at the site of the highest remaining seeds.
