St. Mary’s College Men’s Swimming Closes Regular Season at Washington College

CHESTERTOWN, Md. – St. Mary's College of Maryland men's swimming won a pair of events Saturday afternoon (Jan. 24) in wrapping up the regular season. St. Mary's College (10-5) saw its five-meet streak halted with a 158-103 loss to host Washington College (3-6).
 
How It Happened
  • Junior Daniel Madigan (Waldorf, Md./North Point) captured the 200-breaststroke in 2:12.74 while fellow classmate Luca Fairbank (Phoenix, Md./Dulaney) placed third in 2:22.93.
  • First-year Brendan Mannion (West Chester, Pa./Unionville) touched the wall first in the 200-individual medley in 2:02.18 while Madigan came in second in 2:08.09.
  • The foursome of senior captain Will Kendrick (Laurel, Md./DeMatha Catholic), Madigan, junior Anthony Davis (Upper Marlboro, Md./Riverdale Baptist), and Mannion came in second in the 200-medley relay in 1:41.66.
  • Madigan picked up a second-place finish in the 100-breaststroke followed by Mannion in third in 1:02.52. Mannion added another third-place finish in the 100-freestyle in 49.41.
  • Sophomore Harrison Greenwald (Eldersburg, Md./Century) came in second in the 1650-freestyle in 17:26.00 while sophomore Stephen Lepine (Rockville, Md./GWU Online) took third in 17:52.98.
  • Greenwald also went second in the 500-freestyle in 5:08.47 while first-year Seth Geasey (Myersville, Md./Middletown) was third in 5:15.82.
  • Davis picked up a second-place finish in the 50-freestyle in 22.47 while first-year Justin Bonner (Waynesboro, Pa./Waynesboro Area) notched a second-place finish in the 200-backstroke in 2:08.38.
  • Greenwald, Davis, Fairbank, and Kendrick came together for a second-place finish in the 200-freestyle relay in 1:29.97.
  • Geasey earned a third-place finish in the 200-freestyle in 1:53.88 while Kendrick touched the wall in 58.84 for third place in the 100-backstroke.
  • Junior Kyle Smith (Crofton, Md./Crofton) went third in the 100-butterfly in 56.26 after placing fourth in the 200-butterfly in 2:13.71.
