ST. MARY'S CITY, Md. – St. Mary's College of Maryland men's swimming began action at the 2026 Atlantic East Conference Swimming & Diving Championships Thursday night (Feb. 12) by breaking the 10-year-old 800-freestyle relay program record.
The foursome of sophomore
Harrison Greenwald (Eldersburg, Md./Century), junior
Daniel Madigan (Waldorf, Md./North Point), and first-years
Seth Geasey (Myersville, Md./Middletown) and
Brendan Mannion (West Chester, Pa./Unionville) posted a record-breaking time of 6:58.65 to take second in the 800-freestyle relay.
Tonight's effort shattered the previous record by over three seconds as
Matt Walchuk '17, Michael Speer '16, Colin Cassady '19, and
Grant Burgess '16 swam a 7:01.94 back on February 20, 2016, at the Capital Athletic Conference Swimming Championships.
The meet began with the 200-medley relay and showcased senior captain
Will Kendrick (Laurel, Md./DeMatha Catholic) and juniors
Luca Fairbank (Phoenix, Md./Dulaney),
Anthony Davis (Upper Marlboro, Md./Riverdale Baptist), and
Kyle Smith (Crofton, Md./Crofton). The foursome clocked 1:37.36 for second place.
Following a 20-minute break, action resumed with the 800-freestyle relay.
The Seahawks finished the first night of championship competition with two silver medals and 68 points to take second in the first team standings.
Marymount (Va.) University, the three-time defending Atlantic East Champions, own the early lead with 80 points while Marywood University sits third with 64 points and Immaculata University is fourth with 30.
