Greenwald Sets 400 IM Record as St. Mary’s College Men’s Swimming Sit Second at Atlantic East Championships

ST. MARY'S CITY, Md. – Sophomore Harrison Greenwald (Eldersburg, Md./Century) registered two more school records Saturday (Feb. 14) as St. Mary's College of Maryland men's swimming remained second at the 2026 Atlantic East Conference Swimming & Diving Championships. Greenwald set the 400-individual medley conference, meet, and school (twice) record to go along with his school record as a member of the 800-freestyle relay.
 
The four-day Atlantic East Conference Swimming & Diving Championships are being hosted by St. Mary's College at the Aquatics Center at the Michael P. O'Brien Athletics & Recreation Center.
 
400 Individua Medley
Greenwald defended his title in the 400-individual medley as he clocked a 4:04.22 to break his own school record while establishing a new conference and meet record. He set the previous school record of 4:06.92 during the morning's preliminaries while surpassing the conference and meet record of 4:06.60 set by Cabrini University's Tommy Ronayne on Feb. 11, 2023.
 
In the morning preliminaries, Greenwald swam a 4:06.92 to top his own school record of 4:10.13 from Nov. 23, 2024.
 
Junior Thomas Brown (Clarksburg, Md./Clarksburg) reached the podium with an eighth-place finish in 5:07.21. Fellow Clarksburg alum junior Nick Suwito won the consolation final in 5:20.92 for ninth overall while junior Jake Williams (Port Republic, Md./Calvert) finished 10th in 5:34.77.
 
100 Butterfly
Junior Anthony Davis (Upper Marlboro, Md./Riverdale Baptist) paced the Seahawks in the 100-butterfly with a fourth-place finish in 52.81 while fellow classmate Kyle Smith (Crofton, Md./Crofton) came in fifth in 53.63. Additionally, first-year JB Bonner (Waynesboro, Pa./Waynesboro Area) placed sixth in 54.35.
 
200 Freestyle
First-year Seth Geasey (Myersville, Md./Middletown) collected a second-place finish in the 200-freestyle in 1:45.91 while junior CB Jurado (Odenton, Md./Arundel) took fifth in 1:51.67. First-year Alex Myers (La Plata, Md./La Plata) notched a sixth-place finish in 1:52.30 as well.
 
100 Breaststroke
Junior Daniel Madigan (Waldorf, Md./North Point) led a contingent of four Seahawks in the 100-breaststroke. Madigan went third in 57.77 while first-year Brendan Mannion (West Chester, Pa./Unionville) came in fourth in 58.97. Junior Luca Fairbank (Phoenix, Md./Dulaney) placed fifth in 59.78 while first-year Kellen Pumphrey (Ellicott City, Md./Mount Hebron) was sixth in 1:01.63.
 
100 Backstroke
After a sixth-place finish in the 100-butterfly, Bonner added a fifth-place finish in the 100 backstroke to his resume, clocking a 55.02. First-year Harry Brooks (Centreville, Va./Westfield) posted a sixth-place finish in 55.07, just edging senior captain Will Kendrick (Laurel, Md./DeMatha Catholic) who followed in seventh in 55.08.
 
Additionally, Brown picked up an 11th-place finish in 1:03.62 after taking third in the consolation final.
 
400 Medley Relay
Kendrick, Madigan, Davis, and Greenwald came together for a second-place finish in the 400-medley relay in 3:36.35.
 
Inside the Meet
Today, fifteen (15) of the 17 Seahawks who competed either in the preliminaries and/or the finals went lifetime bests. Additionally, 16 SMCM swimmers reached the podium 19 times, including finishing the third night of championship competition with one gold, two silver, and one bronze.
 
St. Mary's College increased its point total to 555 to remain in second place, finding itself 101 points behind Marymount (Va.) University. Marymount, the three-time defending Atlantic East Champions, stays in first place with 656 points while Marywood University holds onto third with 245 points. Rounding out the top five are Immaculata University (158) and Gallaudet University (29).
