Box Score MEDIA, Pa. — The St. Mary's College of Maryland women's basketball team turned in a dominant all-around performance Saturday afternoon, defeating Penn State Brandywine 93–35 in conference play at Brandywine Commons Gym.
The Seahawks seized control early, building a 25-7 advantage after the first quarter before extending the margin to 49-13 at halftime. A 29-point third quarter put the contest firmly out of reach as St. Mary's maintained command throughout the second half.
Saffiyah Gibson led the Seahawks offensively with 17 points on 7-of-11 shooting while adding five steals. Olivia Liszt followed with 16 points, three rebounds, and two assists, and Marley Saunders chipped in 15 points, including three three-pointers.
Keira Mason contributed 11 points, four assists, two blocks, and two steals, while the Seahawks showcased depth with 47 bench points and five players scoring at least eight points.
St. Mary's shot an efficient 51.5% from the field (35-68) and forced 40 turnovers, converting those opportunities into 47 points. The Seahawks also dominated inside with a 50-18 scoring edge in the paint and held advantages in fast-break points (32-5) and second-chance scoring (12-4).
Penn State Brandywine was led by Trinell Watson with nine points, while Jazmyn Kemp added seven. The Lions shot 30.0% from the field and committed 40 turnovers under persistent Seahawk defensive pressure.
St. Mary's has concluded the regular season and has earned a first round bye. They will be back in action on Saturday, February 21st when they host a quarterfinal matchup.
