LATHAM, N.Y. – The St. Mary's College of Maryland women's lacrosse team picked up both United East Conference Women's Lacrosse Player of the Week awards as announced by the league office Monday afternoon (Mar. 16).
Junior
Hope Harrison (Catonsville, Md./Mount de Sales) was named the Offensive Player of the Week for the second time this season while junior
Allie Greeley (Havre de Grace, Md./Havre de Grace) picked up Defensive Player of the Week honors for the first time in her career.
Harrison started her week with three goals and an assist plus one ground ball in a 9-7 road loss to Randolph-Macon College (Mar. 11). The 5-5 midfielder then added a goal and an assist along with two ground balls, two draw controls, and one caused turnover in a 9-8 overtime loss to Widener University (Mar. 14).
Harrison is currently second in the United East with 16 goals while ranking third with 20 points.
Greeley made seven stops, scooped up a career-best seven ground balls, and notched a career-high two caused turnovers at Randolph-Macon. The 5-5 goalie went on to match her season-high of 12 saves and had one ground ball against Widener.
Greeley currently sits second in the league with a 10.88 goals-against average and 58 saves while taking third with a .468 save percentage and 9.67 saves per game.
St. Mary's College (1-6) will be back in action Tuesday, Mar. 17, when the Seahawks travel to Chestertown, Md., to take on Washington College (4-2) in non-conference action at 4 pm on St. Patrick's Day.
