Box Score Game 1

Box Score Game 2

St. Mary's City, Md. – Stevenson University rebounded from yesterday's loss with two wins Saturday afternoon as the Mustangs took a pair from St. Mary's College of Maryland by the scores of 2-1 and 7-2, claiming a 2-1 edge in the season series.

The Seahawks knotted the game at 1-all in the top of seventh and Stevenson responded as junior Steve Krider (Westminster, Md./Westminster) notched a walk-off single for his first hit of the game to lead the Mustangs (4-1, 2-1 CAC) to a 2-1 victory in the first game.

Senior RHP Derrick Nason (Catonsville, Md./Reservoir) picked up the win for Stevenson, giving up one run on five hits with three walks.

The first game had been scoreless until the fourth inning when sophomore Justin Anderson (Shrewsbury, Pa./Calvert Hall) scored on a Seahawk throwing error to put Stevenson on the board.  Stevenson nursed the 1-0 lead for two innings before St. Mary's finally broke through in the seventh.

After leading off with a single, senior Lyle Kralle (Great Mills, Md./Great Mills) advanced to third on red-shirt first-year John Stewart's (Annapolis, Md./St. Mary's, Annapolis) sacrifice bunt and junior Brad Shepherd's (Columbia, Md./Oakland Mills) fly out to centerfield.  Kralle then scored on senior Justin Rabon's (Charlotte Hall, Md./La Plata) single to left field.

Sophomore RHP Mike Victory (Westford, Mass./Westford Academy) suffered the loss, allowing two runs (one earned) on six hits with five strikeouts and one walk.

Stevenson owned a 7-1 advantage after three innings of play, forcing the Seahawks (1-5, 1-5 CAC) to play catch up.  St. Mary's tacked on an additional run in the sixth before dropping the 7-2 decision in the nightcap.

Junior RHP Brandon Krochune (Baltimore, Md./Digital Harbor) notched the win giving up just one run on four hits in 5.0 innings with three strikeouts.

Senior captain Jon Gill (Owings Mills, Md./Park) was saddled with the loss after allowing six runs (four earned) on seven hits with a pair of strikeouts in 2.0 innings.  Kralle paced the Seahawks at the plate for the day with a 2-for-5 effort in two games with a run scored.

The Seahawks will welcome Cazenovia College to the Hawk's Nest tomorrow for a non-conference doubleheader, starting at noon.
