Dover, Del. – The St. Mary's College of Maryland baseball team (10-8, 3-5 CAC) took one from Wesley College (14-3, 2-2 CAC) Saturday afternoon to snap Wesley's five-game win streak in Capital Athletic Conference action.

St. Mary's rallied with three runs in the seventh inning to claim a 4-3 victory over the host Wolverines, overcoming a 2-1 deficit.  Wesley held a 2-0 lead after three innings before the Seahawks finally got on the scoreboard in the fourth.

Junior Eric Gronbeck (Owings, Md./Northern) reached on an error by senior Kevin Murphy (Middletown, Md.) and then advanced on sophomore Corey Napier's (Leonardtown, Md./St. Mary's Ryken) ground out to third base.  Gronbeck plated the run on senior Joey Kavanagh's (Huntingtown, Md./Huntingtown) two-out single to left center.

The 2-1 Wesley lead held until the seventh when Napier connected on a two-run double to score sophomore Mike Schmidt (Burtonsville, Md./Blake) and senior Matt Baden (Huntingtown, Md./Huntingtown) and give the Seahawks a 3-2 lead.  Gronbeck scored St. Mary's fourth run as he came in on junior Keith Johnson's (Great Mills, Md./Great Mills) sacrifice fly.

Wesley made it interesting in its half of the inning when Murphy hit a lead-off home run to pull his team within one.  Sophomore LHP Wick Eisenberg (Towson, Md./Friends) then went to work to preserve the Seahawk lead as Eisenberg sat down the next two batters as junior Geoff Kimmel (Lawrenceville, N.J.) flied out to right field and junior Bryan Reshetar (Newark, Del.) struck out looking.  Eisenberg gave up a walk before getting junior Ryan Polk (Croydon, Pa.) to pop up to Napier.

Eisenberg (2-0) wrapped up his second win of the season with 2.0 innings of relief, giving up one run on one hit.

Wesley shutout the Seahawks, 3-0, in the first game as Reshetar went 3-for-3 at the plate.  Following two scoreless innings, the Wolverines got on the board in the third with a single run as senior Billy Crowe (Newark, Del.) drew a lead-off walk, advanced to second on a sacrifice bunt and then scored on junior Rob Benedict's (Drexel Hill, Pa.) double.

The Wolverines added another one in the fourth as back-to-back singles and a walk loaded the bases for sophomore Corey Jefferson (Wilmington, Del.), who drew a walk to allow Kimmel to score.  Wesley picked up its final run in the sixth when Reshetar cracked a solo home run to right field.

Sophomore Devon Jerrard (Hunt Valley, Md./Boys' Latin) suffered his first loss of the season as Jerrard (3-1) gave up three runs on seven hits.

Sophomores Corey Napier (Leonardtown, Md./St. Mary's Ryken) and Stefano Muscatelli (Warwick, R.I./Toll Gate) led the Seahawks at the plate for the day as Napier had three hits with a double and two RBI while Muscatelli was 2-for-3 with a double.

St. Mary's will be back in action tomorrow when the Seahawks wrap up their three-game series with Wesley in the Hawk's Nest with a single, nine-inning game at 2:00 pm.
