Mosher, St. Mary's Women's Soccer Dominates Wesley for First CAC Win

Dover, Del. – Sophomore Liz Mosher (Bethesda, Md./Madeira) tallied her first career hat trick in leading the St. Mary's College of Maryland women's soccer team to their first Capital Athletic Conference win of the season, a 4-1 rout of Wesley College Saturday afternoon.

Mosher provided the Seahawks (3-3-1, 1-0-1 CAC) with a three-goal halftime lead as she netted all her goals in the first 45 minutes.  Mosher started the scoring at 7:25 and followed up with her second at 39:44.  She netted her final tally of the game just 22 seconds before halftime.

Wesley (5-4-1, 1-1-0 CAC) avoided the shutout as the Wolverines notched a score on their only shot on goal.  Chelsi Biener converted on a penalty kick at 62:19 for her team's lone goal of the match.

Senior forward Kim LaBarge (Gambrills, Md./South River) wrapped up the scoring for St. Mary's at 68:01 off a corner kick.

The Seahawks controlled the tempo of the match from start to finish as the team finished with an 18-4 shot advantage while owning a 6-1 margin in corner kicks.

Junior goalkeeper Kelsey Wirtz (Parkton, Md./Hereford) had no saves in the Seahawk win while Sydney Kahan recorded five stops in the loss.

The Seahawks will be back in action on Tuesday, September 25 as St. Mary's travels to Washington, D.C. to face The Catholic University of America in non-conference action at 4:30 pm.
