St. Mary's City, Md. – Senior captain Liz Mosher (Bethesda, Md./Madeira) tallied a goal and an assist in helping the St. Mary's College of Maryland women's soccer team to a 2-0 Capital Athletic Conference win over Wesley College Saturday afternoon.

The Seahawks (5-4-2, 2-1 CAC) kept their win streak against Wesley (7-4, 0-3 CAC) alive today, stretching the streak to seven straight and improving their series record to 14-1. Wesley's only win was a 2-1 decision in the first round of the 2007 CAC Tournament.

Mosher netted her first goal of the season at 6:28 as she received a quick, short pass from junior forward Gillian Sawyer (Columbia, Md./Wilde Lake) just inside the box and dribbled a couple of steps before finding the lower left corner for a 1-0 Seahawk lead.

The one-goal advantage stood until the 85th minute when junior forward Jess Konecke (Gaithersburg, Md./Quince Orchard) tallied an insurance marker. Konecke collected a cross inside the box from Mosher and then beat junior Chelsea Marriner (Cape May Court House, N.J./Cape May County Tech) for her second of the season.

St. Mary's posted a 12-9 shot advantage for the game but Wesley owned an 8-6 edge in shots for the second half. The Seahawks held an 8-5 margin in corner kicks.

First-year Sydney Larkin (Salisbury, Md./Parkside) picked up three saves in recording her fourth shutout of the season. The Seahawks have now won two straight. Marriner finished the day with five stops as the Wolverines are now on a three-game skid.

The Seahawks continue with conference play on Saturday, October 11th as St. Mary's welcomes Salisbury University (5-3-3, 2-0-0 CAC) to Seahawk Stadium at 4:00 p.m.
