Mary Washington struck first late in the first half to stake a 1-0 lead at halftime. First-year Ryan Van Maanen (Woodbridge, Va./Forest Park) corralled a rebound outside of the box and shot into an empty net for his first goal of the season.
Junior midfielder Nick Tait (Silver Spring, Md./Sandy Spring Friends School) evened up the contest at 54:35 as Tait deflected first-year midfielder Juwan Kearson's (Baltimore, Md./St. Paul's School) short pass at the far post for his conference-leading 14th goal of the season.
The Eagles claimed a 2-1 advantage just over a minute later as senior midfielder Mike Bennett (Kings Park, N.Y./Smithtown) tallied an unassisted goal after picking up a loose ball and chipping it in for his third of the season. Kearson collected a pass from Tait and then sent a shot through the legs of sophomore goalkeeper Matt Spencer (Stafford, Va./Mountain View) at the near post for a 2-2 score at 61:16.
