Box Score York, Pa. – Junior forward Zach Fontenot (Middletown, Md./Middletown) was the hero on Wednesday afternoon as Fontenot's ninth goal of the season propelled the St. Mary's College of Maryland men's soccer team to a 1-0 overtime win over York College of Pennsylvania as well as the championship game of the 2015 Capital Athletic Conference Men's Soccer Championship Tournament.
Sixth-seeded St. Mary's (9-8-2) had only one shot on goal in 95 minutes of action but one was all they needed to advance to just the program's third appearance in the CAC tournament championship contest. The Seahawks finished as CAC runners-up in 1991 and 1992.
Fontenot collected a turnover deep in York's defensive third, beat a Spartan defender, and finished into the left side for his second game-winning goal of the season as well as second in three games. His first game-winner also came against York on October 28 to secure the sixth playoff berth.

The Seahawks will now travel to the Eastern Shore to take on top-seeded Salisbury University, a 2-0 winner over fourth-seeded University of Mary Washington in today's semifinal matchup, in the title match on Saturday, November 7. The game time to be determined.
Saturday's championship matchup will feature two teams who both lost in the semifinal round of last season's CAC Tournament. Salisbury has won the CAC title seven times – 1999, 2000, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2007, and 2008 – and holds a 3-0 record over the Seahawks in playoff action. The two sides have never met in the championship game.
Second-seeded York (9-8-2) controlled possession throughout the match, posting a 24-9 shot advantage (8-1 shots on goal) and a 9-3 corner kick margin. The Seahawk defense stood strong against the offensive challenge by blocking six shots while sophomore goalkeeper Zack Haussler (Woodbine, Md./Glenelg) made eight saves.
The Spartans outshot St. Mary's, 13-4, and earned six corners in the first half but Haussler (Woodbine, Md./Glenelg) responded with six stops. York continued to pepper the Seahawks in the second stanza with a 9-4 shot margin and two more corners. Haussler notched his final two saves, preserving the scoreless draw and sending the game into extra time.
Shots were just 2 to 1 in overtime with the Spartans claiming one more corner kick.
