St. Mary's City, Md. – The St. Mary's College of Maryland men's swim team (0-3, 0-2 CAC) would fall to the undefeated York College of Pennsylvania Spartans (3-0, 2-0 CAC) on Saturday afternoon in Capital Athletic Conference action.

How It Happened
- The Seahawks would take home five gold medals.
- The first gold medal of the day would be earned by senior captain Andrew Braun (Bowie, Md./DeMatha) in the 1,000 freestyle, finishing in 10:44.46.
- Senior captain Matt Walchuck (Middletown, Md./Middletown) would take the lead for the Seahawks, placing first in the 200 freestyle with a time of 1:45.35.
- Sophomore Colin Cassady (Phoenix, Md./Calvert Hall) claimed a first-place finish in the 50 freestyle with a time of 22.04.
- Junior Kieran Broder (Olney, Md./Georgetown Prep) would lead the Seahawks in the 100 breaststroke, placing first with a time of 1:01.99.
- The final gold of the day would come in the 200 freestyle relay. Cassady, sophomore Reed Rhoads (Westminster, Md./Winter Mills), senior captain Andrew Braker (Olney, Md./Sherwood), and Walchuck would take the race with a time of 1:30.05.
- The 200 yard medley relay would be another successful relay for St. Mary's as team members first-year Peter Orban (Montgomery Village, Md./Watkins Mill), Broder, first-year Ryan Akhavan (Annapolis, Md./Broadneck), and Cassady would earn a time of 1:39.62 to finish in second.
- Walchuck would also earn a silver medal in the 500 freestyle, coming in just over two seconds behind Spartan first-year Jesse Tate (York, Pa.) with a time of 4:56.62. Tate would place first with a time of 4:54.45.
- Junior Lucas Delgado (Bowie, Md./Gonzaga [D.C]) paced St. Mary's in the 400 individual medley with a third-place finish in 4:47.06.
- Akhavan picked up a bronze medal in the 100 butterfly in 56.94 followed by Delgado in fourth (57.56).
- Orban nailed a third-place finish in the 100 backstroke in 56.23 and Braker came in fourth (57.04).
- In the 100 freestyle, Braun took fourth with a time of 52.17.
- Cassady and Walchuck would have the most points for the Seahawks, each taking home 22 points with two gold and a silver apiece.
Up Next for the Seahawks
- The Seahawks will travel to Frostburg State University on Saturday, November 12 for a double-dual meet with University of Pittsburgh at Bradford. The meet will begin at 1:00 p.m.
