Owings Mill, Md. – Senior forward Gillian Sawyer (Columbia, Md./Wilde Lake) would propel the Seahawks with two goals to secure the win against Stevenson University. Sawyer would also top the all-time goals scored list for St. Mary's College of Maryland, breaking the record with 38 career goals.
How It Happened
- St. Mary's College of Maryland (3-1) and Stevenson University (1-2) would have a scoreless first half and be tied 0-0 to enter the second half of the game.
- Sawyer would score the first goal of the game at 73:09 to the far left post. This goal would surpass Christa Childers' (1998-01) 36 goals and make Sawyer the all-time leading scorer for the Seahawks.
- At 84:21, Sawyer would strike again after an assist from senior midfielder Claire Kostelnik (Los Angeles, Calif./Flintridge Sacred Heart) to secure the Seahawks' win against the Mustangs.
