Salisbury, Md. – The St. Mary's College of Maryland men's soccer team and Rutgers University-Camden were unable to break the stalemate in 110 minutes of action Friday afternoon, battling to a 3-3 tie in double overtime at the Elmer Lord Memorial Classic hosted by Salisbury University. It was the season opener for Rutgers-Camden, who received votes in the NSCAA Division III Preseason Poll.

How It Happened
- Senior captain Nick Tait (Silver Spring, Md./Sandy Spring Friends) connected with sophomore midfielder Juwan Kearson (Baltimore, Md./St. Paul's) for the second straight game as Kearson sent a cross to the middle and Tait redirected towards the back of the net at 20:54.
- The Seahawks built a 2-0 lead early in the second half as first-year midfielder Anoi Hindle (Huntingtown, Md./Huntingtown) beat a Camden player down the left side and a low cross to the middle where first-year forward Khalid Balogun (Washington, D.C./Bowie) one-touched it in at 48:12.
- Rutgers-Camden cut the lead in half at 65:05 when junior Shane Guyer (Hammonton, N.J./Hammonton) finished off a pass from junior defender Aaron Muse (Lumberton, N.J./Rancocas Valley).
- St. Mary's regained a two-goal lead at 72:06 when junior forward Alessandro Burlew (Mt. Airy, Md./Good Counsel) assisted on junior forward Emmanuel Oppong's (Tema, Ghana/Blake [Md.]) first goal of 2016.
- The Scarlet Raptors scored twice in a span of 1:10 minutes as junior midfielder Clayton Taylor (Mendham, N.J./West Morris-Mendham) notched the equalizing goal and an assist in the run, knotting up the game with nine minutes left in regulation.
- The Seahawks outshot RU-C, 6-2, in the two 10-minute extra periods but sophomore goalkeeper James Brett (Palmyra, N.J./Palmyra) made two stops in the final frame to preserve the draw.

- Scorers: Tait (1 goal); Balogun (1 goal); Oppong (1 goal); Kearson (1 assist); Hindle (1 assist); Burlew (1 assist).
- Goalkeeper: Zack Haussler (3 saves, 3 goals allowed, 110:00).
- St. Mary's took 26 shots in the contest, including a 13-0 margin in the first half, and earned six of the game's 11 corner kicks.

- Scorers: Taylor (1 goal, 1 assist); Muse (1 goal, 1 assist); Guyer (1 goal); Brad Maine (1 assist).
- Goalkeeper: Brett (9 saves, 3 goals allowed, 110:00).
- Rutgers-Camden finished the game with 14 shots and five corner kicks.
Notes
- Tait jumped up two spots to eighth all-time with 67 career points following a five-point performance in the first two games of the season, surpassing David Reumont '07 (62 points) and Mikel Tigrett '08 (64 points).
- St. Mary's is now 1-2-1 all-time against Rutgers-Camden.
