St. Mary's City, Md. – The St. Mary's College of Maryland women's soccer team picked their third consecutive loss Wednesday afternoon. St. Mary's (6-8-0, 1-2-0 CAC) surrendered a first half goal in falling 1-0 to Salisbury University (5-6-1, 2-1-0 CAC) in Capital Athletic Conference action.

How It Happened

• St. Mary's claimed a 7-5 edge in shots while the Sea Gulls boasted a 4-0 advantage in corner kicks with two in each half.
• Madison Hogsten netted the eventual game-winning goal in the 33rd minute after receiving a pass from Lydia Narum. Narum slotted a through pass between two defenders and Hogsten just outstepped a Seahawk defender to win the 50-50 ball and slip it past an outstretched Katie Flores (Towson, Md./Towson) into the lower right corner.
• Hogsten's goal proved to be the difference as each goalkeeper made two saves over the final 45 minutes for a scoreless second half.

For the Seahawks

• Scorers: None
• Goalkeeper: Flores (2 saves, 1 goal allowed, 90:00)

For Salisbury

• Scorers: Hogsten (1 goal); Narum (1 assist)
• Goalkeeper: Regan Benton (2 saves, 0 goals allowed, 90:00)

Notes

• Salisbury moves to 25-7-3 in the series with its second consecutive win over the Seahawks.

• Frostburg State holds the edge in the series, 9-5-4, which began in 1994. However, the Seahawks have earned a 2-0-2 record against FSU in their last four meetings. Frostburg's last win over SMCM was a 2-1 decision at Frostburg in 2014.
