St. Mary's City, Md. – The St. Mary's College of Maryland women's soccer team dropped their first Capital Athletic Conference contest of the season on Saturday afternoon. St. Mary's (6-7-0, 1-1-0 CAC) notched a 4-0 loss against the University of Mary Washington Eagles (6-2-1, 2-0-0 CAC) for its second loss in a row.

How It Happened

• Mary Washington edged the Seahawks, 13-12, in shots but St. Mary's posted a 6-1 margin in corner kicks, including five in the second half.
• The Eagles claimed a 1-0 halftime advantage as Margot Brown fired a shot from the top of the box, which hit the crossbar and bounced in at 27:23.
• Katie Rauch doubled UMW's lead at 54:16 as Rauch put back the rebound after senior captain Katie Flores (Towson, Md./Towson) saved Rauch's penalty kick.
• Mary Washington scored twice in a four-minute span for the 4-0 final as Alexia Inge had a hand in both goals, scoring one at 61:16 and assisting on the other at 65:14.

For Mary Washington
