St. Mary's City, Md. – The St. Mary's College of Maryland baseball connected on 23 hits, including eight extra base hits, but dropped a Capital Athletic Conference doubleheader to Penn State Harrisburg on Saturday afternoon. Harrisburg (23-7, 9-3 CAC) picked up 13-7 and 20-9 victories over the Seahawks (9-14, 2-11 CAC).
How It Happened (Game 1)
- After Harrisburg struck first in the top of the first inning with a leadoff home run, the Seahawks rolled to a 7-1 advantage with at least one run in each of the first four innings. A bases loaded walk and a two-run double by redshirt sophomore Jay Hammett (Coltons Point, Md./Chopticon) keyed St. Mary's three-run second.
- The Lions closed the gap to 7-5 with a three-run rally in the sixth before breaking the game open with six runs in the seventh. Chase Smith's three-run bomb over the left center fence highlighted the seventh inning for Harrisburg.
- The visitors tacked on two more in the ninth for good measure.

How It Happened (Game 2)
- The Lions jumped out to a 6-1 lead after three innings of play before exploding for 10 runs in the top of the fifth to stake a commanding 16-1 advantage.
- St. Mary's would cut the deficit to 16-8 with seven runs between the sixth and seventh innings. Senior infielder Bennet Garner (Bowie, Md./Bowie) sparked the four-run sixth with a two-run double to left center while junior outfielder Lucas Kraft's (Boyds, Md./Clarksburg) two-RBI triple to left center fueled the three-run seventh.
- Harrisburg put up four more runs in the ninth to seal its 23rd win of the season.
