Lancaster, PA-- The St. Mary's College of Maryland Baseball Team (6-6) made the trip North to Pennsylvania for a Sunday United East Conference Doubleheader against the Lancaster Bible College Chargers (2-14). The Seahawks were able to earn a sweep on the day, winning 10-2 and 12-4 to improve to 4-1 in conference play.

How It Happened (Game 1)

  • The Seahawks wasted no time getting on the board, beginning the game with two runs in the top of the first inning. Cole Tarleton continued his hot streak in a big way in his first at bat, sending a ball over the fence for a two run shot and his first homerun of the season. St. Mary's added two more runs in the top of the second thanks to a Chase O'Dell RBI triple and a George Berbakos RBI single. The Seahawks carried their 4-0 lead into the middle innings.

  • Thanks to a couple of Charger errors, the Seahawks were able to continue building their lead in the top of the fifth inning. Most notably in that stretch, Cole Tarleton connected on an RBI single, adding to the two RBIs he contributed earlier in the game. The Seahawks led 8-2 going into the final stretch of game one.

  • St. Mary's would put the finishing touches on a game one victory in the top of the sixth inning. Chase O'Dell made contact on a game-sealing two run homer to give the Seahawks a 10-2 advantage going into the final inning. The Chargers would be unable to rally and the Seahawks would cruise to a 10-2 victory.
