St. Mary's City, MD-- The St. Mary's College of Maryland Baseball Team (8-17) began a three game series with the Penn State Berks Nittany Lions to conclude the regular season.. The Seahawks defeated the Nittany Lions 6-5.

How It Happened

• Penn State Berks Scored the first two runs of the game. 

• St. Mary's got on the board and recorded their first run of the game in the bottom of the fourth inning. Aaron Wathen came up big with a three run home run to give the Seahawks a 3-2 lead.

• The Seahawks added another three runs in the bottom of the fifth. Trevor Smith recorded an RBI double to send home Chase O'Dell and Ian Walters to make it a 5-2 ball game. Aaron Wathen gave St. Mary's their third run of the the inning on a sac fly that allowed Ian Walters to score from third.

• The Nittany Lions added a run in the top of the seventh and two runs in the top of the eighth to make it a one run ball game.

• The Seahawks went on to shut down Penn State Berks in the top of the ninth to hold on to win 6-5.

Inside the Box Score

• Aaron Wathen paced the Seahawks with four RBI's. Wathen also recorded two hits.

• Tommy Brill pitched seven innings, gave up five earned runs and struck out four. Nick Russo pitched two innings and gave up zero runs and only one hit.
