LATHAM, N.Y. – Sophomore Nick Haney (Chesapeake Beach, Md./Northern) was selected as the United East Conference Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week as announced by the conference office Monday afternoon (Oct. 27). This is Haney's second career league offensive player of the week honor.
 
The St. Mary's College of Maryland men's soccer team tallied a 2-0 record this past week with wins over Regent University (Oct. 22) and Lancaster Bible College (Oct. 25).
 
Haney netted the game-winning goal in the team's come-from-behind 4-3 win over Regent before adding a goal and an assist in St. Mary's College's 4-0 road win over Lancaster Bible.
 
Haney currently leads the United East with four game-winning goals while tying for second with 22 points. The 5-11 forward also ranks third with 45 shots and fourth with nine goals while tying for fifth with 21 shots on goal. Additionally, he is tied for sixth with four assists.
 
St. Mary's College (12-5-1) will be back in action this Saturday, Nov. 1, when the Seahawks host a quarterfinal matchup with either No. 8 seed University of Valley Forge (4-10-3) or No. 9 seed Penn State Berks (3-14-1) at the Jamie L. Roberts Stadium. Game time is tentatively set for 3 pm.
