St. Mary's City, MD-- The St. Mary's College of Maryland Baseball Team (0-6) hosted the York College of Pennsylvania Spartans (3-5) for a Sunday afternoon game to conclude the three game series. The Seahawks fell to the Spartans 11-6

How It Happened

• Trevor Smith got the Seahawks on the board in the top of the first off of an RBI single that scored Aaron Wathen from third. 

• York took the lead after a two run bottom of the first. 

• The Spartans added to their lead in the bottom of the second to take a 4-1 lead. 

• St. Mary's loaded the bases in the top of the fifth and chipped away at the Spartan lead after a one out Ian Walters single that sent home George Berbakos and Aaron Wathen to make it a 4-3 ball game. 

• The Seahawks went on to take the lead in the top of the sixth following Cole Tarleton getting hit by a pitch with the bases loaded and another Ian Walters RBI single to make it 5-4. 

• York stormed back in the next half inning to take a 7-5 lead. 

• The Seahawks brought the game back to within one in the top of the seventh following a Cole Tarleton RBI single. 

• Unfortunately for St. Mary's, York went on to score four unanswered runs the remainder of the game to take home a 11-6 win. 

Inside the Box Score 

• Ian Walters and Cole Tarleton paced the Seahawks with two RBI's each. . 

• Avery Sims, George Berbakos, Ian Walters, and Cole Tarleton all had two hits. 

• Jordan Bonhoff pitched five innings and gave up six earned runs after facing 26 batters. Nick Russo pitched two and two third innings and gave up four earned runs after facing 15 batters, whale striking out two.
