KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) announced Thursday afternoon (July 22) the recipients of the 2024-25 NABC Team Academic Excellence Awards and the members of the 2024-25 NABC Honors Court, representing achievement in the classroom by men's college men's basketball teams and individual players.
Over 2,400 players earned spots on the NABC Honors Court and nearly 400 programs received NABC Team Academic Excellence Awards for 2024-25.
The Team Academic Excellence Awards recognize programs that completed the 2024-25 academic year with a team grade point average of 3.0 or higher. This season, St. Mary's College of Maryland men's basketball posted a 3.2144 team GPA.
The Honors Court, meanwhile, includes junior, senior and graduate student men's basketball players who finished the 2024-25 year with a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher.
Jake Koverman '26 (Severna Park, Md./Southern),
AB Oladipo '25 (Killeen, Texas/Killeen),
JD Salo '26 (Dunkirk, Md./Northern), and
Kendahl Toft '25 (Vista, Calif./Guajome Park Academy) represented St. Mary's College on the Honors Court this season.
Koverman owns a 3.496 GPA as a sociology major while Oladipo posted a 3.377 GPA as a biochemistry major. Salo tallied a 3.405 GPA majoring in environmental studies and minoring in biology while Toft notched a 3.552 as a computer science major.
Oladipo and Toft are making their second straight appearance on the Honors Court and are members of Chi Alpha Sigma, the national college athlete honor society, while all four earned a spot on the United East Conference Winter/Spring All-Academic Team.
The Seahawks finished the season with a 14-12 (10-6 UEC) record for its third winning season in the last four years, locking up the No. 5 seed in the United East Championship Tournament.
