LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Senior captain
Adam Martin (Kent Island, Md./Kent Island) continued to reap awards for his play last week as Martin earned a spot on the 10-person United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) Division III Team of the Week as announced Tuesday (Mar. 10).
The announcement comes on the heels of Martin being named the United East Conference Men's Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week on Monday (Mar. 10).
The St. Mary's College of Maryland men's lacrosse team is coming off a 1-1 week which saw St. Mary's College fall to The Catholic University of America (Mar. 4), 5-4, before rebounding with a 20-5 victory over SUNY Maritime College (Mar. 7).
Martin put forth a breakout performance on defense as the 5-11 defenseman started off with career-highs of six ground balls and four caused turnovers in the loss to Catholic. He then led the defense with three caused turnovers and three ground balls against Maritime College.
Martin currently ranks second in the league with 12 caused turnovers.
The Seahawks (4-2) will be back in action Wednesday, Mar. 11, when SMCM hosts Randolph-Macon College (5-2) at the Jamie L. Roberts Stadium in non-conference action at 7 pm.
