LATHAM, N.Y. – Junior Gavin McKay (Urbana, Md./Urbana) picked up the United East Conference Men's Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week award as announced by the league office Monday afternoon (Mar. 2). This is McKay's first career weekly conference award.
 
The St. Mary's College of Maryland men's lacrosse team handed Hampden-Sydney College, who entered the game having received votes in the latest United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association Division III poll, a 14-8 setback at the Jamie L. Roberts Stadium on Feb. 27.
 
McKay contributed career-bests of four goals and five points plus two ground balls in the win.
 
He is currently tied for fourth in the United East with 13 goals while ranking fourth with 18 points. McKay is also tied for sixth with five assists.
 
St. Mary's College (3-1) will be back in action Wednesday, Mar. 4, when the Seahawks host The Catholic University of America (0-3) at the Jamie L. Roberts Stadium in non-conference action at 7 pm for Military Appreciation Night.
