Box Score YORK, Pa. – St. Mary's College of Maryland baseball fell to York College of Pennsylvania, 11-0, in nonconference action Saturday afternoon at Jaquet Field.
York wasted little time getting on the scoreboard as Matthew Wade launched a three-run home run in the first inning to give the Spartans an early 3-0 lead. The home team added to the advantage in the second inning, scoring five runs highlighted by a three-run homer from Lucas Prendergast to extend the margin to 8-0.
The Spartans tacked on another run in the fourth on a sacrifice fly before adding two more runs in the fifth to close out the scoring.
St. Mary's was limited to three hits in the contest. Connor Wilkerson, Rhett Fletcher, and Eli Shafer each recorded a hit for the Seahawks, with Fletcher collecting the team's lone extra-base hit with a double.
On the mound, Jack Overton took the loss for the Seahawks after allowing eight runs (seven earned) in 1.1 innings. Colin Patterson provided 3.2 innings of relief, while Nic Durick worked a scoreless sixth inning.
York tallied 17 hits in the game, led by Alex Neeld's 4-for-4 performance with three runs scored. Prendergast finished with three hits and three RBIs, while Wade added four RBIs.
Dillon Michaloski earned the win for York, tossing six scoreless innings while allowing three hits and striking out four.
