LATHAM, N.Y. – Sophomore Julie Presgraves (Frederick, Md./Frederick) and junior Sophia Kent (Chesterville, Md./Gunston) were selected as the United East Conference Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week, respectively, for field hockey as announced by the league office Monday afternoon (Sept. 21).
 
This is the first conference weekly award for Presgraves while Kent is racking up her sixth career honor.
 
The St. Mary's College of Maryland field hockey team won their only game of the week, handing Randolph-Macon College (Sept. 17) a 2-1 setback.
 
Presgraves scored her second game-winning goal of the season (and career) at 53:26. The goal marked her second of the season (and career) as well. The 5-5 midfielder is currently tied for seventh in the United East with two goals while tying for ninth with four points.
 
Kent made a season-best six saves in the win over Randolph-Macon, improving to 2-1 on the season. The 5-5 goalie leads the conference with a 0.91 goals against average while ranking third with a .786 save percentage.
 
St. Mary's College (2-3) will be back in action Wednesday, Sept. 23, when the Seahawks travel to Chestertown, Md., to take on Washington College (2-4) in a non-conference game at 7 pm.
