Washington, D.C. - The St.
Mary's College of Maryland women's tennis team extended its win
streak to five matches with its 7-0 shutout of Trinity (D.C.)
University in non-conference action Friday afternoon.
The Seahawks (6-2) dropped only two sets the entire match.
Senior Jerilyn Rogalski (Amherst, Mass./Amherst
Reg.) stretched her win streak to five straight with her 8-0
victory over sophomore Cynthia Reyes (Bronx, N.Y.)
at No. 2 singles. Rogalski is now 6-1 on the
season.
In doubles action, sophomores Monica Powell
(Rockville, Md./Rockville) and Colleen O'Neil
(Jefferson, Md./Brunswick) registered an 8-0 win over
Reyes and freshman Mary Ataku
(Washington, D.C.) at No. 2 doubles to record their team-leading
sixth win as the Seahawk tandem is 6-1 this season.
The Seahawks will enjoy Spring Break before returning to action
on Tuesday, March 24 with a make-up match against Goucher College
at 3:00 at the Somerset Tennis Complex in non-conference action.
