Most Memorable Sports Experience at St.Mary’s:

“There were so many memorable moments in the2002 lacrosse season, which makes it difficult to choose just one!Winning 19 consecutive games, breaking multiple team scoringrecords, having the #1 scoring defense in the country, earning anational ranking of #4 in the country, winning the conferencechampionship and hosting the region of the NCAA tournament were allincredible accomplishments and made for a very memorable season. Ican also vividly remember each NCAA selection show and how I feltwhen St. Mary’s College was called. Our team was instantlygranted a second season and we knew that we were a part of a veryelite group within our sport.”

Most Missed about Playing and Coaching atSt. Mary’s:

“I truly miss putting on a Seahawk uniform andthe physical challenges that take place while competing at a highlevel. The adrenaline and determination that take over when youscore a goal or dive across the floor to dig a ball are feelingsthat are almost difficult to put into words. I can vividlyremember the sense of pride and school spirit in reaching the NCAADIII lacrosse tournament and representing St. Mary’s Collegeon the national level. I miss the camaraderie and chemistry on andoff the field between the Class of 2004 and will never forget ourtime spent together and all of our accomplishments as agroup.”

“Having the opportunity to coach at my almamater was a once in a lifetime experience. There is a bond that youhave with a program that you played for which makes it easy topaint a picture for recruits, excites you when you step on the gamefield and allows you to be a special mentor for your playersbecause you were in their exact shoes just a few years before. Iwill always be grateful for the opportunity to coach lacrosse atSt. Mary’s College.”

Words of Advice for Today’s SeahawkAthlete:

“Take advantage of every opportunity that youare given during your four years as a student athlete andrealize that those opportunities are finite. Strive to be your bestduring each run, workout, practice and game. This determinationwill also help your teammates to succeed. Competing on a varsityathletic team is an honor and all memories and feelings ofaccomplishment will be worth every ounce of effort that you haveput forth. Realize that four years of competition will actuallyfeel like a blink of an eye. Lastly, hang on to your Seahawk gearand be proud to wear it years later.”

In myeight seasons as an athlete and three seasons as a head coach myparents have only missed a handful of games. My mom & dad havespent many Saturdays traveling to various colleges on the eastcoast and made many mid week trips to St. Mary’s county aftera long day of work. Their support of my athletic endeavors helpedto make me a better player, coach and person.”
