Sports: Basketball and Volleyball
Athletic Accomplishments:
While at St. Mary’s Peg played varsityvolleyball and basketball, intramural sports and participated inthe canoe/kayak club. During her junior and senior years, she wasIntramural Coordinator for Athletics. She wrote sportsarticles for the College newspaper, Empath, and localnewspapers, Enterprise and St. Mary’sBeacon. Peg was selected as the College’s FemaleAthlete of the Year for 1975 and captain of the 1976 women’svolleyball team.
Post-collegiateAccomplishments:
After St. Mary’s, Peg served in the Maryland Army NationalGuard. She worked with the legislative director for Group HealthAssociation of America, where she assisted the General Counsel innegotiations to successfully pass amendments to the HealthMaintenance Organization Act through the U.S. Senate. Pegplayed an integral role in the founding of the College’sathletic booster club, Seahawk Association, and served as itspresident. She was also President of the St. Mary’s AlumniAssociation from 2004-2008. Peg is currently a member of theCollege’s Board of Trustees.
