Athletic Accomplishments:

Kathryn was the first Seahawk to be named CapitalAthletic Conference (CAC) Rookie of the Year for two sports (fallsoccer and spring lacrosse) in the same academic year. As a junior,she was captain of both the women’s soccer and lacrosseteams. Her senior year, she was named St. Mary’s StudentAthlete of the Year and CAC’s Women’s Lacrosse Playerof the Year. She graduated summa cum laude and won a NCAAPost-Graduate Scholarship.

Career Highlights:

Soccer: Kathryn was named firstteam All-CAC three times; twice to the CAC All-Aca­demic; twiceto the National Soccer Coaches Association of American (NSCAA)Divi­sion III All-Mid Atlantic team; and twice as team MVP. Shewas also named an Academic All-American.

Lacrosse: Kathryn was named tofirst team All-CAC two times; once to the Intercol­legiateWomen’s Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) All-Americanteam. As a first-year, she scored the game winning goal in the CACchampionship game. She holds school records for ground balls (341)and draw controls (314) and is second all-time with 73 assists. Sheled the team to two CAC titles and two NCAA Division III tournamentappearances in 1999 and 2000. Kathryn was selected for the annualNorth/South Senior All-Star Game.

Most Memorable Sports Experience at St.Mary’s:

“Hosting Salisbury in the CAC soccersemi-finals in 1998 which ended in a shoot-out in the near-dark;equally as memorable was hosting the NCAA lacrosse tournament in2002 on graduation day and having a personal graduation of thelacrosse team seniors prior to the game start. Both ended inlosses, unfortunately, but proof that fond memories are not basedon winning and losing but love of the game.”

Since St. Mary’s:

She and her husband, Dave Sulkowski ’02, both Captains inthe U.S. Army, have fin­ished their medical residencies atMadigan Army Medical Center in Washington and are stationed inSouth Korea. Kathy is a family medicine physician; Dave is a clinicpediatri­cian. They are the parents of two-year old Tyler.“It’s a very challenging but rewarding career and Iappreciate my experiences at St Mary’s College both on andoff the field for contributing to the foundation allowing me toreach my goals.”
