Athletic Accomplishments:

One of St. Mary’s most dominant athletes inthe late ’70’s, she excelled in both basket­balland volleyball. While a student at St. Mary’s, Terry coachedboth girls’ volleyball and softball at Great Mills HighSchool. She also served as St. Mary’s assistant women’sbasketball coach her senior year. She was the first St.Mary’s female athlete to be named Female Athlete of the Yearfor three consecutive years (1977-1979).

Basketball: During the February1980 game against Shenandoah College, she set and broke her ownschool record for points several times, ultimately scoring acareer-high 37 points. During the same game, she brought the gameto a standstill and a cheering crowd to its feet when she sank her1,000th point of her collegiate career, becoming St. Mary’sfirst female basketball player to surpass 1,000 career-points. Shewas women’s basketball MVP for her four years at St.Mary’s.

Volleyball: Terry earned numerousall-tournament team honors. She was key player on the 1978 teamthat won the Maryland Association of Intercollegiate Athletics forWomen (MAIAW) Small College Championship. She was women’svolleyball MVP for two seasons.
